Welcome to Heritage Reformed Presbyterian Church. We are a mission work of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). We are seeking to establish a Reformed Church in Northeast Georgia—accessible to Hart, Madison and Franklin Counties. The OPC came into existences in 1936 to stand against the rising tide of liberalism in mainline Presbyterianism. We remain committed to the authority of the Bible as the infallible, inerrant Word of God and we therefore seek to order the life of the church according to the expressed teachings of the Bible. This commitment impacts the way we worship, disciple the members of the church and evangelize.
As a mission work we are under the authority of the Presbytery of the Southeast of the OPC. Teaching and Ruling Elders from other organized congregations within the Presbytery have been appointed to shepherd and care for us until such time as we are able to elect our own elders.
While we affirm the Holy Scriptures of the Bible as inerrant and sufficient, we also affirm the Westminster Confession of Faith as a summation of the doctrines taught in Scripture. As a Reformed church we believe that the authoritative Word of God must be exalted and taught in its entirety; that the preaching of the Word is central to worship and growth in grace. We believe in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit who calls us to repentance and applies the Word to us. We believe in God’s majesty and sovereignty and that our proper response is lives that are wholly consecrated to Him and His service. We believe that we are to be committed to bringing the gospel of repentance and salvation to those who are lost, and that our gratitude for this saving grace should motivate us to lives of obedience to God’s law. We believe that our worship should conform to the pattern for worship given to us in Scripture and be characterized by an attitude of reverence and awe.
We invite you to worship our Creator King, our Lord and Savior, with us. We gather morning and evening on the first day of the week, the Lord’s Day, to remember His resurrection from the dead, His victory over sin and death, and the new life we find in Him.
